Ceremony-day text reminders: programme terms

StageReader sends short text reminders to graduating students on the day of their convocation ceremony at the college or university they registered with. This page describes the programme.

Who sends the messages

Messages are sent by StageReader. StageReader is operated by PhotoVisions, the trading name of 909585 Ontario Ltd., 153 King St W, Brockville, Ontario, Canada. StageReader collects your consent, writes every message and sends it; your institution does not send texts through this programme. Every message begins with "StageReader:" and comes from a Canadian phone number identified to you at the time you opt in.

How you opt in

When you register for your ceremony on StageReader, you may enter a mobile number and tick the box that begins "I agree to receive ceremony-day reminder text messages from StageReader about my" ceremony. The box is never pre-ticked, and both steps are optional. Your institution may also provide your mobile number from its own records under its existing relationship with you. Consent is never assumed from a number alone.

What you will receive

Message frequency: up to four messages on ceremony day. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan.

How to opt out or get help

How your mobile number is used

Your mobile number is used only to send the reminders described above. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. It is processed by our messaging provider solely to deliver the messages. Your institution remains the custodian of your information; see the StageReader privacy policy.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and device.
